A word about download speeds and the performance of the videos. Some of you have commented about the videos starting and stopping.
Here’s what’s going on and what you can do about it.
The video player on your browser page has to “fill up” with the file that’s being sent from the video server. The “container” for the downloaded file is called the buffer. If the buffer “runs out” of video to play, the picture will freeze until there’s more of the file downloaded.
Many things can affect the speed of the download. The internet between the server and your ISP can be slow, your connection may be over-taxed (maybe by your kids playing World of Warcraft or some other online game!), or you may simply have a slower connection. Whatever the cause, here’s what you can do about it.
Click on the play button to start the downloading process. Then click it again to pause the playing of the video. Watch the progress bar and you’ll see that the rest of the video is actually downloading. Wait a few minutes and let it run ahead (it’s filling the buffer). Then click play again to watch the vid without the irritating stops and starts.
Hope this helps!
